Salzburger Weißbierbrauerei

Since 1901 – Austria's oldest wheat beer brewery

Since 1901, Die Weisse has stood for authentic Salzburg brewing craftsmanship. As Austria's oldest wheat beer brewery, it was born from the vision of Adelbert Behr, who created an exceptionally light, fruity wheat beer around 1900 – the birth of die Salzburger Weisse.

To this day, it is still brewed according to the original recipe: naturally cloudy, bottle-fermented and with a fine-bubbled head. Regional raw materials, careful maturation and secondary fermentation in swing-top bottles ensure its unmistakable taste with a gentle fruity note.

Under the leadership of Felix Gmachl, Die Weisse has been combining tradition with innovation since 2015 – for example, with Austria's first gluten-free organic wheat beer. In this way, the brewery remains true to its roots while setting new standards.
